PARAGON MUSIC MAGAZINE CHANGING FROM PRINT TO INTERACTIVE
MAGAZINE TO GO DIGITAL DOWNLOAD STARTING NOVEMBER 2006
In order to broaden its readership and provide new interactive and informative features, Paragon Music Magazine will debut its first online-only issue in November 2006.
Paragon Music Magazine, an independent music/comedy print magazine that has been putting out issues since May 2003 and has gained a significant amount of recognition in the music community, from fans and artists to industry executives, will be changing its format beginning in November 2006 by producing its issues online at www.paragonmag.com, the magazine's official site. Ten issues per year will be launched, and they will be interactive, downloadable PDF files, providing readers the opportunity to see full-color images, photos, and layouts never before seen in Paragon while it was being printed in black & white. Clickable links, images, sound files, and more will be available in each issue, and the magazine will offer interactive advertising as well, allowing a reader to simply click on an ad to be redirected to the advertiser's site. In addition, Paragon will also offer banner ads throughout the website.
"With this change comes an immense opportunity for growth. While in print, the magazine's distribution was limited, but it will now be available for free to readers across the globe. Its innovative interviews and thought-provoking articles will be made available to anyone who wishes to read them, and the magazine's goal of spreading the message on important issues will be enhanced," says Lisa Selvaggio, co-founder and editor.
"Paragon will always deliver the best product possible, and this move to digital will bring the readers deeper into our world. This won't be just another 'webzine' with interviews and reviews scattered all over HTML pages. This will be a fully downloadable version of what people already pick up each month, only with a digital punch that will enhance the experience," says Robert Acocella, co-founder and photographer.
Other changes to ParagonMag.com will include daily news updates on music, comedy, and anything Paragon related. Major interviews will be archived from each issue, and SickIdiots.com will host some of each issue's material as well.
November/December 2006, the debut issue, will tentatively feature interviews with Monica Richards (Faith & the Muse fame), SOiL, and Powerman 5000, along with the magazine's famous monthly columns and interviews with independent artists.
